Inventory description: Letter from Robert Thomas Alexander O’Callaghan, Harley Street, London, 31 Jan 1900, to Alfred Jackson, offering him the post of personal servant in South Africa; O’Callaghan, who was the Medical Officer, with the rank Temporary Major, of the Flintshire Royal Engineers (Volunteers), had been appointed Surgeon in Chief of the Langman Field Hospital during the Boer War (1899-1902).
