Inventory description: Typed letter from Gen Sir Dighton Probyn VC, signed and dated Sandringham 28 Jan 1922, to Capt C B Norman; relating to Victoria Cross winners of the Indian Mutiny, (including the fact that Lord Roberts won his VC riding one of Probyn’s horses), and the introduction of the Sam Browne belt in the 2nd Punjab Cavalry (Sam Browne’s Regiment) of which Probyn was adjutant at the time, 1853.
