Inventory description: Two envelope letters: one sent from Blatchington Barracks by Pte George Jackson, Berkshire Militia, to Mrs Mary Jackson, 1807; one sent from Horsham Barracks by Lt Charles Villiers 1811; both letters are sent at the 1d Soldiers’ Concessionary Rate, but the 1811 letter shows an abuse of this privilege as it was not written by the soldier for whom it was countersigned; both with accompanying biographical notes.
