Inventory description: Typescript transcript autobiographical memoir, nd; a narrative derived from notes and diaries kept by William Henry Poulter, 1909-1973, 1st Bn Middlesex Regiment, describing his capture by the Japanese at the surrender of Hong Kong, Dec 1940, his escape from the Lisbon Maru, a ship torpedoed on 1 Oct 1942, his life as a prisoner of war at Kobe, Japan and his repatriation to England in Oct 1945.
