Description
12th Cavalry Sam Browne's Cavalry (Frontier Force) Red Mess Dress jacket of Lt Col Hastings Lionel Ismay, 1930-1940 (c). Scarlet mess dress jacket with black collar and cuffs. It has plain gilt buttons and gold lace decoration, with the collar decorated with gold lace and braid. There are plaited gold cord shoulder boards with two goldwork stars, to both shoulders. The jacket fastens with a hook and eye at the collar, and has gilt metal stud trim to the left centre front. Part of the Brian (Kala Singh) and Nirmal Russell Indian Army Collection.
