Description
Jambiya with scabbard, Moroccan style. Carried by Capt (later Lt Gen) Colin Mackenzie, 48th Madras Native Infantry. Curved blade, with black wooden hilt. Hilt has brass fitment crowning pommel. Brass scabbard, decorated with repousse work, with two suspension rings on either side. Associated with the 1st Afghan War (1838-1842).
