Sudanese/ Dervish kulah khud helmet liner. Quilted cotton; woven with green and puce stripes and edged with pale blue fabric; lower edge decorated with six red and blue cotton tassels. Reputed to have been taken from the palace of Ali Dinar, the Sultan of Darfur in 1916 However, as it is part of the Wolseley Collection it is more likely to have been taken during the Sudan campaigns.
