Music stand, 1909; made of brass with silver decorations and wooden fitments; stands upon three feet; engraved with the device of a crenelated turret with the numeral, ‘XLIV’ flanked by scrolls inscribed, ‘CENTRAL INDIA’, and ‘AFGHANISTAN 1878-79’; across the bottom is the regiment’s name and the inscribed presentation to officers of the 44th Merwara Infantry by Lt W W Shaw on the 5 Dec 1909; made by Hawkes and Son, London.
