Description
Other ranks shoulder belt plate, 1825 (c). Associated with 74th Regiment of Foot. Rectangular brass plate bearing the following die-struck design. Between two palm sprays an elephant statant upon a frosted tablet with raised, burnished borders bearing the battle honour, 'Assaye'. Above the elephant, the numeral, '74', the whole surmounted by a monarchial crown. On the reverse a flat hook in each corner. Associated with 2nd Maratha War (1803-1805).
