Description
Pattern 1868 lance, 1898; bamboo shaft, bound with calf skin leather protector (post 1883), leather strap and a red and white pennant; three sided point head; 1868 pattern (Ffoulkes) shoe; Has sword damage on the shaft between the lether protector and the leather strap. according to the RUSI records carried by Lancers Morton and Sherring, 21st Lancers, at the Battle of Omdurman, 2nd Sudan War (1896-1899), 1898.
