Disbound MS book, used by Lt Col Ronald Forbes Meiklejohn, Royal Warwickshire Regiment as a diary, 8 Jan 1898 to 6 Aug 1898.

Included in the book are a copy of the Morse Code, a list of officers present at the Battle of Atbara, a sketch map of the Nile from Korli to Khartoum, a list of his kit, and a list of the officers of the Warwickshire Regiment. Found loose in it were a pen-and-ink sketch, of a section of Mahmoud's Zareba, (drawn on 8 Apr 1898) a native defensive work, and a copy of a poem about the Battle of Atbara composed by a fellow-officer. A lively account of his life, including a full description of the Battle of Atbara, illustrated with a sketch-map of the battle field.
