Officer's shoulder belt plate, 12th Bombay Native Infantry, 1850 (c) Irregular shape gilt metal plate. Upper right hand corner, border is covered by gilt metal oakleaves and acorns. Upper left hand corner a spray of gilt laurel leaves in relief obscures the border. Lower left hand side is covered with laurel leaves and the border in each lower corner bears oakleaf sprays. Extending from the upper right hand corner to the lower left hand corner is a white glass scroll with battle honours, 'Meeanee; Hyderabad'. Below the scroll in right-hand corner, a spray of union flowers in relief. Centre of the plate, in relief, a gilt laurel wreath in which is a white glass garter with the battle honour, 'Kirkee'. In the garter the Roman numeral, 'XII', on a domed silver ground. Above the garter in relief, a gilt metal monarchial crown. Associated with Sind (1843) and 3rd Maratha War (1816-1819).
