Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899-1902, clasps: Transvaal, South Africa 1902. Awarded to Lt (later Lt-Col) Francis Edward William Baldwin, 2nd Bn, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). A note on the medal roll reads, ‘brought a draft from India and returned March 1902’. Baldwin transferred to the Indian Army from the Buffs Regiment on 9 Jul 1904 and is listed as the Lieutenant Colonel, Indian Army, in the Half Yearly Army List 1929.
