Description
Maori jade mere or patu Porourangi; spatulate pear shaped club of nephrite jade ('Pounamu') with a pierced grip and shallow transverse flutes, lead plug in one piercing; presented to Lord Roberts in 1901 by Chief M H Tuta Nihoniho through the Agent General of New Zealand Hon W P Reeves.
