Microfilm copy of the manuscript diary of 8498 Pte W Furness, Royal Army Medical Corps, 11th Field Hospital, serving with the 1st Cavalry Brigade 16 Nov 1899 - 28 Oct 1900. The account covers the advance to Kimberley, operations on the Modder River leading to the capture of Bloemfontein and service around Pretoria. Associated with the Boer War (1899-1902).
