The Mission of Mercy: Florence Nightingale receiving the Wounded at Scutari, 1855 (c). Mixed method engraving by Samuel Bellin after Jerry Barrett, published by Agnew and Sons, 1858. Florence Nightingale standing beside the gates of the hospital at Scutari receiving the wounded soldiers during the Crimean War.
