Manuscript letter from William Simpson to his wife Bridget and children dated, 'On the Banks of the River Aleyden near Varna, 30 Jun 1854'. Simpson was in the Light Division and goes into some detail of life in outlying picquets, particularly what he gets to eat and drink. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
