Photocopy of a letter, dated 22 Sep 1855. Sent by Thomas Golaphy, a soldier at Sevastopol in the Crimea, to William [?] relating to the capture of the city, subsequent celebrations and the plundering of goods. Also included is a description of the fighting at the Malakoff Tower and the Redan, as well as the number of casualties sustained by the 19th, 88th, 90th and 97th Regiments of Foot. Associated with the Siege of Sevastopol, Crimean War (1854-1856) 1854-1855.
