Documents of S/Sgt William Wharin Royal Artillery and Army Service Corps 1851-1875.
Documents include his service record on WO Form 738 and manuscript reminiscences of his service in the Crimea.
The Reminiscences comprise six short stories on aspects of life in the Crimea May to Oct 1854, one dated 1905; and manuscript narrative 'Recollections of events and incidents connected with my campaigning in Turkey and the Crimea', covering the period Mar to Sept 1854. Together they give an interesting insight into the campaign as seen by a literate gunner.
Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
