Description
Photocopy letter with manuscript transcript, written by Maj Gen Thomas Valiant, commanding 2nd Infantry Brigade at the Battle of Gwalior, 1843. He gives an account of the brigade's action, correcting some statistics, and details of his appointment as QMG in place of Maj Gen C H Churchill who was killed in the action. Associated with Gen Charles Horace Churchill, Gwalior (1843).
