Letter giving notice of the sale of medals belonging to Col George Ernest Harley CB, of The Buffs (East Kent Regiment).
Medals included The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Companion Breast Badge Military Division in gilt, India General Service Medal 1895 and bar for Relief of Chitral, and Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899-1902, four bars (Colonel).
Col Harley was Commanding Officer of 1st Bn, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) in 1895 and Assistant Adjutant General, 8th Division in the Boer War 1899-1902, participating in operations in the Orange Free State in 1900.
