Miscellaneous collection of papers, chiefly relating to Greathed's Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) service, 1858-1898. From the papers of Maj Gen William Wilberforce Harris Greathed, 1848-1868. Comprising copy of his petition to the Secretary of State for India Nov 1858 requesting promotion; copies of despatche Nov 1857 to May 1859 mentioning his work in the campaign, copy of the statement made February 1872 by Subadar Adjaodia Patuck, Bengal Sappers and Miners on the blowing in of the Kashmir Gate, Delhi, with subsequent note by Greathed, Jul y 1874; letter to Greathed (by then dead) from Karamkhan, January 1899, and undated letter to him from Robert Napier together with three letters to Alice, his widow, two from her nephew Percy Archer Mar 1897 and Jan 1898, and one from her brother Meysey, November, no year.
