Decorative carved griffin, from the Residency at Lucknow, 1857. Carved gilded wood, maker unknown. Recovered by Asst Sgn Henry Martineau Greenhow, one of Lucknow's defenders during the siege; associated with the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
