Description
Signet ring with inset moonstone, owned by Sir James Abbot, reputedly worn during the Indian Mutiny, 1857. Gold and moonstone, made by Indian workmen, 1857 (c). Rectangular moonstone, thin shanks, with Persian characters and flora on the polished surface, ring is somewhat bent Associated with Sir James Abbott and the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
