Spirit flask owned by Captain (later Major-General) Henry Doveton Battye, 56th Bengal Native Infantry, 1855 (c). Pewter, maker unknown, 1855 (c). Rectangular, with rounded shoulders and concave front and back surfaces; ridged border round edge; loops each side threaded with a suspension cord short neck with a screw-on cap, a detachable drinking beaker fits over the body.
