Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, Custom House Volunteers, London, 1803-1814. Brass oval shoulder belt plate with mounted device of a crown surmounting a garter, with ‘GR’ monogram in the centre. Inscribed on garter, ‘CUSTOM HOUSE GUARD’. Associated with Napoleonic Wars, Home Defence (1803-1815).
