Description
Bound manuscript order book kept by the West Suffolk Militia at Eastbourne Camp, 17 May-2 Oct 1795 and at a Review on Winkfield Plain 2-3 August 1798. The daily orders reflect a concern with drill, with the internal economy of the assembled units, with preserving friendly relations with the local population and with the transfer of men to the Royal Artillery and Royal Navy. Associated with the Wars of the French Revolution, Home Defence (1793-1802).
