Description
Shoulder belt plate, officers’, 3rd West Yorkshire Militia, 1800 (c). Brass oval shoulder belt plate with white metal mountings. Inscribed in centre in white metal, ‘3 / WY’, encircled by an eight pointed rayed star in white metal, all upon a gilt copper ground. Reverse bears brass hook at centre upper edge with two copper studs at lower edge. Associated with the Wars of the French Revolution, Home Defence (1793-1802).
