Description
Manuscript letter to Mary, written by Lt Andrew Pilkington, 2nd (Queen's Royal) Regiment of Foot from at sea, 3 Jun 1794. Describes the events of the Glorious First of June, when Admiral Lord Howe engaged the French fleet off Ushant. Pilkington was injured by splinters whilst on board HMS Royal George during the action. Associated with the Wars of the French Revolution, War at Sea (1793-1802).
