Description
Commemorative medallion 1914-1918 issued to the next of kin of Lt Charles Frederick Griffith Hollis. Bronze, circular, Britannia standing holding laurel wreath over name plaque, flanked by dolphins in front; lion standing looking right; at base lion subduing eagle. From the collection of the former Buffs Regimental Museum. Hollis served in the Buffs Regiment during World War One and was killed in action on 02/08/1918 aged 20 while on a raid and according to the Commonwealth War Graves Debt of Honour Register is buried at reference II. D. 3. at Abeele Aerodrome Military Cemetery.
