Description
13 pdr anti-aircraft artillery shell casing, dated 1916. Made by Elswick Ordnance Company, Newcastle, part of Armstrong Whitworth and Company, 1916. Casing is like the normal 18 pdr but tapered to 3 inch calibre to fit 13 pdr shell and was known as '13pdr of 9cwt'. Associated with World War One (1914-1918).
