Description
Typescript transcript of a letter, 13 Jan 1916. Written by Henry J Chapman, 3rd Bn London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), while recovering from wounds in Morant War Hospital, Brockenhurst, Hampshire to his friend 2795 Pte Harry Jonathan of the same battalion. The letter describes the battalion’s service in Gallipoli after Jonathan had been sent to hospital suffering from diptheria. Harry Jonathan died in hospital on Malta 6 Jan 1916.
