Description
Manuscript letter, 2 Aug 1918. Sent to Mrs Isabella Spencer at 44 Church Road, Stockingford, Nuneaton by Capt J A Swanston, Officer Commanding 30th Bn Machine Gun Corps. The letter informs Mrs Spencer that her husband was killed in action the night before. From a collection of items relating to 155729 Pte John Spencer, Royal Warwickshire Regiment and Machine Gun Corps, and his son Harold Charles Spencer, possibly Lt H C Spencer, Coldstream Guards.
