Notebook containing mauscript memoirs of the Great War written by Lt Stanley Hale Freeman, 1919.
Volume One covers his enlistment in the Royal Engineers in 1914, training at Martin Hill and Walmer, and transfer to the Royal Naval Division, and then journey to Alexandria via Malta on the ship 'Ayrshire'. He then describes the landing at Gallipoli on 15 May 1915 at V Beach and subsequently describes conditions and events there.
