Description
George Cross 1941. Awarded posthumously to Bombardier Henry Herbert Reed, 1 Maritime Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, dated 23 Sep 1941. Bombardier Henry Reed, although wounded himself, carried an injured comrade to safety. Henry died of his wounds and was awarded the George Cross in 1941 for his 'gallant and utterly selfless action'. Associated with the Merchant Navy, World War Two, War at Sea (1939-1945).
