All ranks beret worn by Colonel Patrick Anthony Porteous VC, No 4 Commando, dated 1943. Made by Kangol Wear Ltd, 1943 Dark green felted wool and leather, bullion embroidered badge of fusil with UBRIQUE beneath. Made by Kangol Wear Limited, 1943. Associated with World War Two. North West Europe (1944-1945). Patrick Anthony Porteous was awarded the Victoria Cross on 19 August 1942 for his bravery while serving as a captain with No 4 Commando during an assault on a German battery in Dieppe. He was commissioned colonel in July 1963.
