Zulu knobkerry, 1879 (c). Hard red brown wood with a long shank; threaded glass or stone bead circled around the stem of the head; annular cut in shank towards bottom. Recovered during the Anglo-Zulu War, given by Major Lostabodie, Royal Artillery, to Gen Henry Le Guay Geary, Royal Artillery An additional note says that it was found near the body of the Prince Imperial Louis Napoleon.
