The following mounted brass design upon a burnished bronze plate.
Within a laurel wreath surmounted by a monarchial crown of slightly primitive appearance, a frosted garter with a double outer burnished rim and an inner roped pattern border bearing the burnished title, 'Bengal Nat: Infantry'.
Within the garter the burnished numerals, '57'.
Below the wreath on a frosted scroll with a roped pattern border, the burnished battle honour, 'ASSAM'.
The reverse bears two hook fittings at the top and two studs at the bottom.
