Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, Royal Cheshire Militia, 1809-1810. Silver, hallmarked, 'London 1809-10'. Engraved design upon a rectangular plate with rounded corners. A garter surmounted by a monarchial crown and bearing the title, 'Royal Cheshire Regt'. Within the garter the embellished Royal Cypher, 'GR'. It is hallmarked on the right hand side and bears the maker's mark, 'GT' (probably George Taylor).
