Manuscript letter written by Sgt William Calder, 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards, to his aunt and uncle at Paisley, 30 Mar 1778. He complains of the lack of letters from his uncle. The letter mentions: the Guards are not going to to America, the threat of French and Irish invasion, how he has been made a Corporal, and comments on the men enlisted in Edinburgh.
