Silver matchbox by WC/JI, hallmarked London, 1893-1894. Rectangular cover with sliding insert of silver, with ridged steel striking plate on the side. Inscribed on top, 'PRESENTED/ TO THE OFFICERS/ OF THE 88TH CONNAUGHT RANGERS/ BY CAPT C H D CASS/ October 1893'. Presented by Capt Charles Herbert Davis Cass and Capt H F N Jourdain.
