Full-length portrait of Lt Gen Sir H Clinton, later Colonel of the Buffs 1815-1829, against background of guns and a possibly tropical landscape. He wears red coat with tails, gold lace and decorations, blue shoulder sash, white breeches and black boots and holds a sword and a cocked hat.
