Description
Pattern 1834 hilt (Indian Army), Rifle Regiment Officer’s sword; blade in dumbbell section, with engraved decoration, including the owner’s initials, a crown, the cypher of Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales’ Feathers and motto, and the maker’s name Henry Wilkinson; plated steel guard, with the Rifle Regiments’ stringed bugle and horn under a crown in cartouche, Wilkinson patent hilt; carried by Lt Col S F B Dalrymple-Hay, 2nd Gurkha Rifles.
