Signed and dated at lower right ‘GHB / 09’ by Godfrey Herbert Brennan (1875-1948), possibly after a plate in the 1742 ‘Cloathing Book’.
Showing an officer, full length and facing forward, with his left hand resting on his hip.
Belonged to Maj James Edward Galbraith DSO, Royal Fusiliers and 1st King’s African Rifles.
Maj Galbraith served in East Africa, and then during World War One on the Western Front, where he captured the ‘Kaiser’s flag’.
He also served in World War Two.
