Modified heavy-drop platform belt, 1970 (c); with a gnarled bar buckle for easy adjustment over clothing of ranging thickness; from a SAS escape kit belt; used by Maj H V Gilpin who served with 21st Special Air Service (Volunteers) during 1951-1954 and 1970-1988; these belts allowed SAS soldiers to operate without heavy pack and support.
