Full dress Infantry Officer’s sword, owned by Capt R J E Oliver-Bellasis, Northampton Militia, later 20th Hussars, 1870-85 (c). Blade is spear pointed with engraving showing the maker’s name, Jackson and Co, the Regiment’s name, Northampton Militia, the word, ‘Mediterranean’ and the owner’s monogram; ‘Gothic’ hilt, in gilt brass, with the cypher of Queen Victoria in cartouche.
