Description
India General Service Medal 1854-95, with clasp: Samana 1891. Silver. Awarded to Sepoy Jiwa Singh, 15th (The Ludhiana Sikh) Regiment of Bengal Infantry. Silver medal with an effigy of Queen Victoria and inscription, ‘Victoria Regina’, on the obverse; on the reverse, the figure of Winged Victory crowning a kneeling figure with a laurel wreath; red and dark blue ribbon. Jiwa Singh's medal includes the clasp 'Samana 1891', awarded for service with Major-General Sir William Lockhart's Miranzai Field Force against the Orakziais of the North West Frontier.
