From medal group awarded to Lieutenant (later Brigadier) J F Whitacre Allen, Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) 1935-1938.
This medal is suspended on a white ribbon with a purple band in the centre, connected via straight bar suspender.
The obverse of the medal depicts a straight armed silver cross with flared edges. It is decorated with a crown in each arm of the cross and the royal cypher of King George V. 
The reverse has a plain design with no inscriptions.
