'C' type flying helmet, 1959 (c)-1962 (c). Belonged to John Stephen Wingrove, who served in the Royal Army Service Corps, 1959-1962. Possibly associated with the Army Air Corps. Brown leather helmet with chamois lining. External wiring connects the ear-phones and the microphone to a universal jack plug. With attached oxygen mask. Printed on ear pieces, 'A [image of a crown] M/ 10A/ 13466'. Handwritten on lining, 'J.S. WINGROVE'. This type of helmet was introduced in the autumn of 1941, and used 1950 (c) to 1959 (c) by the Royal Air Force.
