White metal design mounted upon a stippled gilt copper rectangular plate with a raised burnished rim.
Flanked by sprays of laurel, a frosted garter bearing the burnished and embellished title, 'Regiment', and surmounted by a monarchial crown.
Within the garter are the frosted numerals, '27', upon a burnished domed gilt metal ground.
The reverse bears two hook fittings at the top and two studs at the base.
